: *hugs him back but still tries to support him as he stands*

: *laughs a little* Ash, if anything my weak nature will be a burden to you...

After a couple days...
: Ash? How are you feeling?
: I still feel like shit.
: Still? *sighs* I don't understand it. We've been treating you for days and still no results.
: I know.
: What in the world is wrong with you? *sits down in a chair* All Serena did was push you into the harbor. It's not like she poisoned you...

: If only I could just kiss you and have it heal you. Like in the movies.
: ... Maybe it'll work.
: I guess it can't hurt. *bends down and gently kisses his lips*

: Well...it was worth a try...

: Ash! Don't think like that! You'll be fine! We just need to find the right treatment!

: Ash...*sits down beside him on the bed and puts her hand on his* Don't do that...you're gonna make me cry too...*starts to tear up*

: *wraps her arms around him and can't speak any more and just cries in his arms*

: *cries and buries her face in his chest, just wanting to be near him when she's sad*

: Why...why am I so useless!? I can't even help my fiancé get better!!

: Then why can't I help you?

: *can't stand to see Ash's body as frail as it is any longer and runs out the door, crying*

: *ignores him and runs into the basement and hides in a corner, quietly crying to herself* Why can't I help him...if I can't handle this...what does he need me for...? I don't deserve to marry someone as wonderful and strong as him...I would've given up by now...and he's still fighting...and...and I can't help him...*buries her face in her arms and cries*
: "runs into the basement, groaning in pain for every step he makes" May! ... May!
: *her ears perk up at hearing his voice, but she stays hidden and quiet so Ash won't notice her*
: May! Please! Come out!
: *doesn't move and waits to see what he'll do*
: ... May! WHERE ARE YOU!?
: *thinking to herself* You don't need me Ash...you're too wonderful to have to deal with someone me...
: ... "collapses"
: *about to go to him but the door opens and the doctors come in and find Ash on the floor, so she stays hidden and watches*
Doctor 1: What is he doing out of bed?!
Doctor 2: Even walking is a huge strain on his body!
Doctor 3: Quickly! We must get him back into bed! *all three work together and lift him up and carry him out*
: *quietly follows them, but at a distance so no one will notice her*
: ...
: *watches Ash and the doctors from outside, still being careful not to be noticed*
Doctor 1: What in the world was he thinking? Getting out of bed in his condition?
Doctor 2: What could've been so important that he had to strain himself so?
Doctor 3: Well, we'd better wake him up to find out. If we know what he wanted, we can keep him from getting up again.
Other Doctors: *nod and use their medicine to wake Ash up*
Doctor 3: Good. Now Mr. Ketchum, what could've so important that you had to risk your health and get up?
: *still staying out of sight and she listens in*
: ... I was looking for my fiancée. ... "May Maple".
Doctor 1: In your condition? Why?
: ... I just had to find her okay! "gets up to continue searching for her"
Doctors: *pushes him back in bed*
Doctor 2: Mr. Ketchum please! You are in no condition to do anything other then rest.
Doctor 1: Look, we'll call her on the intercom and tell her to come to your room ok?
: You don't understand! I have to find her myself! "gets out of bed and rushes out of his room"
Doctors: *run after him, insisting that he needs to stay down*
: *stays out of sight and watches the commotion, her hand holding her heart*
: "running throughout the entire Hospital" MAY! ... MAY! PLEASE! I NEED YOU!
Doctor 1: Mr. Ketchum!
Doctor 2: Please!
Doctor 3: You are in no condition for this!
: *watches*
: I DON'T CARE!
Doctor 2: I assure you Mr. Ketchum! We can find your finance if you just go back to your room!
Doctor 1: You must!
: NEVER! ... "starts to feel lightheaded and collapses"
: *holds her heart tightly as she watches the doctor rush to Ash*
Doctor 3: I knew this would happen!
Doctor 1: We must begin immediate treatment if we're going to have any hope of saving him! *all three rush him back to his room and immediately begin treating him through his IV. Then, they strap him to the table to keep him from trying to get up again*
Doctor 2: There. That ought to hold him. And it should be a while before he wakes up.
Doctor 1: Yes, but we must find his fiancé quickly. If she's still missing when he wakes up, it could spell trouble. *all three leave Ash alone in the room*
: *sneaks into Ash's room and quietly hides in the closet so she can keep an eye on him. Then she whispers to herself* Please Ash, the sooner you let me go, the better it will be for you...you don't need me dragging you down...
: You ... aren't dragging me down May. ... Your helping me back up.
: *suprised and thinks* How? He's not even conscience!
: ... "destroys the straps, gets out of bed and hugs May"
: *blushing and amazed that he was able to know she was there*
: ... Nothing ... will stop me from finding you May. Not even IV.
: *looks down at the ground* Ash...why...? If I can't help you...what good am I to you? I've always been...a burden to you...
: No you haven't!
: *snaps her head up at his tone, tears on the brims of her eyes*
: ... Alright. Now stay here. I gotta hit the can. "walks outside to locate the bathroom"
: *watches him, tears threatening to escape from her eyes*
: ... "collapses 4 seconds later"
: NO!! *tears spill from her eyes and she runs to him, taking his motionless body into her arms*
: ... "still breathing"
: *lets her tears fall onto his face* Oh Ash...this is all my fault...
: ...
*Soon enough, the doctors notices Ash.*
Doctor 1: What the...?! How did he get out of bed again?!
Doctor 2: *looks at May* You are responsible for this aren't you?!
: *shakes her head* No! You've got it all wrong! I...
Doctor 3: *yanks May away from Ash and pulls her down the hall* Sure we do. Lets go missy.
: No please! *Tries to break free from the doctor's grip but she can't*
Doctor 3: *pulls May into the elevator* Now I'm calling the police and having you arrested for meddling with sick people!
: No Please! I didn't...*elevator doors close leaving Ash and the two doctors alone*
Doctor 2: Guess we'd better get him back into bed.
Doctor 1: Right. *They put him back into bed and put his IV back on* Without that girl around messing things up, he should make a perfect recovery.
Back with May...
: Please! Please let me go!
Doctor 3: No way! *Pushes her into a closet and locks her in* Now you just stay put and I'll call the police. *Leaves her in the closet*
: *bangs her fists on the door but it won't budge. She sinks to the floor and cries*
: ... "wakes up" ... "groans in pain" ... May! ... "looks around" What the? ... Where's May!?
Doctor 2: Who?
With Doctor 3...
Doctor 3: *on the phone* That's right officer. She put one of our patients in great danger by removing him from his room. What? Oh don't worry. We got her locked in a room, and I have the only key hidden away, and only I know where it is. 20 minutes? Sure, we can wait. Yup. Bye. *hangs up*
: What did you do with May! ... My fiancée?
Doctor 1: We haven't found your fiancé yet Mr. Ketchum. We're still looking though, don't worry.
: -_- I just saw her before I blanked out!
Doctor 2: Well, when we found you, there was only a criminal with you, not your fiancé.
: ??? Excuse me? I got up on my own!
Doctors 1 and 2: Huh?
: Yeah!
Doctor 1: Impossible. Those straps were supposed to keep you restrained.
: We'll they didn't! Now where's May!?
Doctor 1: *whispers to Doctor 2* Poor thing. He's so sick he's hallucinating.
Doctor 2: *whispers back* Yeah. Luckily, the medicine we've put him on will fix him right up.
Doctor 1: *whispers* Yup. Finally we'll be able to cure him. It was quite the struggle.
Doctor 2: So what do we do about these hallucinations he's having?
: I heard all that! I'm not hallucinating! "struggles to get out of bed"
Doctors: No! *push him back down on his bed and hold him there*
Doctor 2: You mustn't get up. We've finally found the right medicine to heal you!
Doctor 1: We need you to stay still and let the medicine work. Then you'll finally be healed!
: "growls at the doctors, gets out of bed, runs out of his room to search for May"
Doctors: Mr. Ketchum! Come back!
: "heads downstairs, and eventually finds a closet" ... "gets the closet door open" May?
: *looks up at him from where she's sitting, the bright light making it hard for her to see since she's been in the closet for so long* A-Ash...?
: Yeah. It's me. "holds out his hand for May to grab" Come on May. We're leaving.
: But you're not well yet. And what about the *before she can even finish, the police lights appear outside the doors and the screeching of police cars can be heard*
: The doctors called the cops?
: *sheepishly nods. Then, the cops burst in, guns at the ready*
Cop 1: Who are we here for?
Doctor 3: *runs in from around the corner and points at May* Her! She's the one!
: O_O Like Hell your arresting her! She didn't do anything wrong!
Cop 1: Sorry kid. But I'm going to have to ask you to step aside. Our orders are to bring her in. She's a danger to everyone here at the hospital; including you.
: She did nothing wrong!
Cop 1: Well, we'll let the judge decide that. But for now, she has to come with us.
: *cowers behind Ash, very scared*
: Damn it! I wont let you arrest her!
Cop 1: I'm afraid, you have no choice in the matter son. *to the other cops* Restrain him and grab her! *two cops jump Ash and force him to the ground. Seeing this, May tries to run, but is quickly caught and handcuffed by two other cops*
: MAY! "struggles to break free" LET HER GO! SHE'S INNOCENT!
The two cops: *keep him pinned down as May is dragged away*
Cop 1: Sorry kid. But it's the judge's job to decide that. We just bring them in to him. *to the other officers* Put her in the back and let's get out of here. *the two cops dragging her along force her into the back of a police car and lock the door*
: I SAID LET HER GO! "kicks the cops, escapes their grasp and rushes to the car" MAY! "tries to bust the door open" I'm gonna get you outta this!
: *tries to tell him something, but the car is sound proof and Ash can't hear her. Then she sees the cops rushing up behind him and tries to warn him, but is unable to and Ash is ganged up on again. Then, the lead cop comes up to Ash again*
Cop 1: Kid, if you didn't need to stay in this hospital, I'd be dragging you in too. Guys, take him back to his room. And make sure he stays there. *the other cops nod and drag Ash back inside the hospital. Then the lead cop goes to the doctors* And you guys, keep him unconscious until he's better would ya? He's a little crazy you know.
Doctor 1: Of course. *all three follow Ash to his room, each holding a pint of knock out gas. Once they all get there, they close the door*
: GET OFF ME! YOUR ARRESTING AN INNOCENT WOMAN!
Cop 2: Just calm down kid.
Doctor 2: *coming toward him with the knock out gas* It's ok Mr. Ketchum. Just relax, and lets us give you this.
Outside...
Cop 1: *gets into the car with May inside and starts up the engine*
: Please sir! I swear I didn't do anything! I
Cop 1: *closes the sound proof barrier between them before she can say anything more*
: I SAID GET OFF ME! "kicking and screaming" YOUR ARRESTING AN INNOCENT GIRL! WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND!?
Doctor 3: We understand what we saw. And what we saw was you, mysteriously out of your restraints and laying unconscious beside that girl that we'd never seen before.
Doctor 2: Now please stop moving and let us give you this medicine. *comes closer with the gas*
Outside...
: *sits helplessly in the back of the police car as the lead officer begins to drive away from the hospital*
: I got out of my restraints on my own! May was just trying to wake me up!
Doctor 1: You weren't even able to stand without collapsing and you expect us to believe you brock through the restraints, all on your own?
Doctor 2: *shakes his head* Sorry Mr. Ketchum. But that's something we can't believe. *brings the shot full of gas only inches away from Ash's neck*
Outside...
: *still watching the hospital get smaller and smaller out the back window as the car continues to drive away. Then, she whispers to herself* Ash...goodbye...
: O_O YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO MAY! "struggles to escape the Doctor's grasp"
Doctor 2: We're sorry...Mr. Ketchum. *sticks the needle into his neck and the knock out gas begins to flow into his bloodstream*
: I ... won't ... let ... you. "loses consciousness" ... "unconscious"
Doctor 2: *wipes the sweat off his face* Whew. He was quite the fighter.
Doctor 3: Yes. Now, we'll need to give him another one of those shots everyday to keep him unconscious. And the medicine needs about 3 days to heal him. So, we'll let him wake up in 3 days. Ok?
Doctor 1: No problem. *all three walk out of the room*
